Final Community Service Self-Reflection

1.       Organization:

Volunteering is a great thing to do for your community, you’ll become more social, your confidence will, increase your patience and it will also draw a smile on others face. At first I had a course where I can serve my country through volunteering, I volunteered in taktof at  the Yas Marina Circuit for the Formula 1 final race that was biggest event in the UAE because it was final race and big event so a lot of came to saw that.

2.       Best part:

The best part is when, I helped the older man disabled to reach the site can view it, without that obscures the matter with him. He is from Germany and was happy because His first visit in my country and he took good idea about local. Also, my groups provide assistance for older persons to get to their chairs and to the exits and entrances of the runway and the nearest restaurants.

3.       Support the community:

The volunteering give me a lot of things I need such as self-confident, involved with other people, help and give advice for people learn from my mistake, community with deference people and deference culture, it change my look to life and I thing it make me a better person. In other hand, the deference organization also involve with us which make our jobs difficult I lost a little of confident, get scared of the job which they give me I thought I can’t finish it on time.

4.       Learn:

I learned in this course what the meaning of volunteering is and how it helps the people and me. The volunteering is working without payment and it help the people in so many ways like organizing the people in festivals and guiding the people, also I learned some new vocabulary for example reconstructions which mean rebuild. Volunteering is all about helping people in so many different ways and it also benefits me to be positive person in life. This course we learned about many companies and organization it main purpose helping people and it based of people who gladly spend their time or there have free time for them.

LSH 2903 – Community Service Learning – Exercise #5

Have a look at this page on the internet:

This page has some ideas about how people can volunteer through education projects.

Once you have read through the pages, you need to work in groups of 4 or 5.
In your groups, come up with a project which you think can be advanced through an educational setting. There are no restrictions, but your idea should be innovative and should aim at adding real value to the people you are trying to help.

As you are working through your project, one of you should be putting together a short presentation (PowerPoint, etc) to explain to the rest of the group what you are trying to achieve.

You should aim to cover the following points, at least.

1.                  What are the aims of the project
2.                  Who are the target audience, and why?
3.                  What activities would your project involve?
4.                  Who would be volunteering? Why?
5.                  What are the benefits your project could bring to the target audience?
6.                  How would you look into launching your project with reference to the relevant authorities in the UAE and in the country you have targeted?
7.                  What problems do you think you might come across and how would you try to get around them?

You should aim at one or two of your group making a 4-6 minute presentation to the rest of the group explaining your findings.
